The Royal Air Force marked its 100th anniversary in 2018 and the Red Arrows helped to commemorate and celebrate the milestone, while also inspiring audiences with a display of speed, agility and teamwork. Just like those personnel at other Royal Air Force units, the 120 people who make up the entire Red Arrows team are highly-skilled individuals â?? all motivated in the pursuit of excellence. The Red Arrows consists of 11 pilots, nine of whom form the display team, with each having previous fast-jet operational experience flying the Tornado, Typhoon or Harrier â?? enabling the Royal Air Force to secure the nationâ??s skies. Known as the Blues because of the colour of their display coveralls, the teamâ??s support staff include dedicated engineers, drivers, suppliers, public relations experts and other personnel.
